The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization working to ensure fair elections, protect voting rights, and strengthen our democratic institutions. We empower voters and defend democracy through advocacy, education, and litigation, at the local, state, and national levels.
WHAT WE DO
ADVOCACY & ACTION FOR LICKING COUNTY
PROMOTE
& PROTECT VOTING
We register voters as well as advocate for government policies that protect and expand voting rights including combatting gerrymandering.
Our Observers Collaborative members attend local meetings and write brief, unbiased reports to inform voters & promote government transparency.
The League hosts candidate forums & shares nonpartisan information about elections and issues that impact local voters.

FACT OR FAKE? A HANDS-ON WORKSHOP TO IDENTIFY MIS- AND DISINFORMATION

Do you suspect the article you read online is inaccurate? Is mis- or disinformation? Join us for this hands-on workshop to teach you to track down the truth or fiction in news sources and social media. Building on LWVLC’s media literacy campaign, this is your chance for a hands-on opportunity to learn to identify and respond to mis/disinformation, including that generated by artificial intelligence.

ARE WE SECURE ENOUGH?
As Ohio prepares for the 2026 Primary Election, election officials from the Franklin, Delaware, and Licking County Boards of Elections discussed how our local elections are administered, the safeguards in place to protect voter security, and how ballots are verified and counted. Moderated by Amy Juravich of WOSU’s "All Sides with Amy Juravich", this nonpartisan forum provided voters with accurate, up-to-date information about election processes in central Ohio.

VOTER REGISTRATION TRAINING
League Members Learn the Ins and Outs of Voter Registration
In preparation for our annual voter registration drive in Licking County high schools, twenty League members gathered on the evening of February 24th to learn the ropes of voter registration. If you’d like to join us in registering voters in our high schools, colleges, and at community events please click the “Get Involved” tab at the top of the page and scroll down to “Voter Registration.”
MEDIA LITERACY
Seeking Truth in the Age of Artificial Intelligence and Mis/Disinformation
Over 50 community members attended our January presentation, “Seeking Truth in the Age of Artificial Intelligence & Mis/Disinformation” co-hosted with the Granville Public Library. Lori Robbins, Head of AI Strategy at Denison University, helped participants understand navigating the mix of truth and invention in the age of AI and to understand the technology’s limits. If you’re interested in mis/disinformation, please plan to attend our upcoming hands on workshop to learn how to spot misleading AI-generated content and how to respond to it.
CANDIDATE FORUM
Granville Township Trustees and Village Council
In preparation for the November election, over 600 voters watched the livestream/recording of our October Granville Township Trustee and Village Council Candidate Forum. LWV of Licking County, the Granville Chamber Alliance, and Denison’s Community Leadership and Involvement Center co-hosted this non-partisan event providing voters with information to aid in their decisions regarding the November election. (Note: The three candidates pictured are those elected by Granville voters)
