The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization working to ensure fair elections, protect voting rights, and strengthen our democratic institutions. We empower voters and defend democracy through advocacy, education, and litigation, at the local, state, and national levels.

Enter on the alley between the church and the historical society.
In preparation for our final voter registration prior to November's general election, we'll gather on September 10 to learn the ropes of voter registration. Last year we registered over 500 voters in Licking County and we look forward to similar success this year. If you’d like to join
us in registering voters in our high schools, colleges, and at community events please click the “Get Involved” tab at the top of the page and scroll down to “Voter
Registration.”

Can voting machines be hacked? How do we know that every vote is counted? Bring your questions and join us for a moderated discussion of election security featuring our Licking County Board of Elections Director Tess Wigginton (Democrat) and Deputy Director Brian Mead (Republican). Together they will provide important information and answer questions about election security in Licking County and beyond. This event is co-hosted by the League of Women Voters of Licking County Library and the Licking County Public Library.

We joined with the NAACP of Licking County to honor the work and memory of Congressman John Lewis for voting rights.. LWVLC provided voter registration and information regarding voting rights and access.

CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS!
Twenty LWVLC members gathered for an in person viewing and conversation of the Know Your Rights webinar hosted by LWV Ohio and LWVUS. We learned how to invoke our constitutional rights using precise, legally effective language, to consider possible threats to democracy work, and how we can protect against such threats
FACT OR FAKE? A HANDS-ON WORKSHOP TO IDENTIFY MIS- AND DISINFORMATION
Building on LWVLC’s media literacy campaign, twenty LWVLC and community members participated in this hands-on workshop to learn to track down the truth or fiction in news sources and social media and to respond accordingly. Lori Robbins, Denison University Head of AI Strategy, facilitated this workshop as a follow up to her popular LWVLC January presentation on mis/disinformation and artificial intelligence.
